Frequently asked questions about Hungarian IPTV

We collected the questions we get most often from customers — from the technical basics to cancellation. If your answer isn't here, we reply within minutes.

What is the difference between IPTV and traditional cable TV?

IPTV delivers television over the internet rather than over a coaxial cable or satellite dish. No set-top box and no dish: an internet connection and an app on your Smart TV, phone or Android box are enough. The practical setup is covered in our installation guide.

Does the service work for Hungarians living abroad?

Yes. The service works anywhere with a stable internet connection. A large share of our customers live in Germany, Austria, the UK and the Netherlands. Some ISPs throttle streaming traffic — a VPN helps in that case, and we cover the setup in our troubleshooting guide.

How many Hungarian channels are available?

The packages include more than 10,000 live channels, covering the full Hungarian line-up: public, commercial, sports, film and children's channels in HD and 4K. You can browse the exact list during the 24-hour trial — request one from the contact page.

Is there an EPG (electronic programme guide)?

Yes, Hungarian channels come with a full EPG, typically covering 7 days backwards and forwards. How it is displayed depends on your player: TiviMate handles the guide best, as we explain in the player comparison.

Is there a catch-up or replay function?

Most Hungarian channels support catch-up, usually for the last 7 days of broadcasts. You need a player that supports the feature — both TiviMate and IBO Player do.

Which player do you recommend: IBO Player or TiviMate?

If you use an Android TV or Android box and care about fast zapping and a detailed programme guide, TiviMate is the better choice. For a simpler activation on a Smart TV or Firestick, IBO Player is easier. The full comparison is in our IBO Player vs TiviMate article.

Do I need a VPN to use the service?

Not normally. Some ISPs do throttle or restrict streaming traffic, and in those cases a VPN can noticeably improve stability. The setup steps are in section four of our troubleshooting guide.

What should I do if the picture buffers or freezes?

Wi-Fi is the most common cause. Try a wired connection or 5 GHz Wi-Fi first, lower the resolution, and restart the player. The full checklist is in our troubleshooting guide. If that doesn't help, message us via the contact page and we'll check the server side.

What happens if I change my device?

You lose nothing. The same login details activate your access on the new device — the steps are in the installation guide. If you get stuck, we'll switch it over for you.

Does my subscription renew automatically?

No. Subscriptions do not auto-renew and we do not store card details. We notify you before expiry and you decide whether to extend. Full conditions are in our Terms & Conditions.

Can I extend my subscription before it expires?

Yes, at any time. Your remaining time is not lost: the extension is added to your current expiry date. Message us on WhatsApp or through the contact page.

Can I get a refund if I'm not satisfied?

Yes. That is exactly why we give a 24-hour free trial before any payment. If a technical problem appears afterwards that we cannot solve, you can request a refund — conditions and deadlines are set out in our refund policy.
